HISTORY
Birthed out of prayer in an inter-denominational home fellowship that met each Saturday for about two years, First-Love Ministries Network had its first public community gathering at Lindbergh High School in Renton, Washington on a September evening in 1998. Dan Root and Gary Fullner, two local lay ministers and members of that home fellowship and members of separate local churches, inquired of the LORD regarding His desire to make local churches and ministries more relevant to the community and the world.
Their first community meeting in September of 1998 led to a second meeting the following month at the same high school. Upon realizing that many parents and students of the local schools were relatively inactive in community matters, the ministry team became acutely aware that the churches in that community would need to unify much more closely in order for a significant Gospel impact to be made on surrounding neighbors.
This led to numerous meetings with couples and individuals in ministry throughout and outside the Puget Sound area in Washington State that agreed with the concept that the LORD wants His body "to be one as the Father and His Son are one." These early partners believed that the Son of God was sent to bring the Church and individual ministers into unbroken eternal fellowship with God and one another. All of them believed this was necessary so that many believers who abide in Him might bear much fruit.
Through the use of the internet and other technology tools, the First-Love Ministry Network has grown rapidly into 32 states throughout America since 1998. Since 1999, this national network of ministers has met annually at the World Prayer Center in Colorado Springs to pray and strategize for encouraging church purity, revival, effectiveness, outreach and evangelism.
From about March, 1999 until July 2000, two national partners, Dan Root and Jan Foresman, helped recruit and build the network to about 60 prayer partners, local partners and state partners. At the first nationwide Network gathering, four (4) more national partners were added to the leadership team. These six (6) national partners currently meet on a regular basis by phone and recruit visionary evangelical leaders in every state throughout the nation.
